Why are there so many movies about possessed dolls?

I only know of one movie about a possesed doll. I wish i never saw it! I saw it as a child and never cared much for dolls after that. Yes, one of those movies is more than enough!

There's a certain fascination with dolls coming to life, probably because they look almost human but are not. The fact that so many people find dolls to be scary (especially doll eyes) is probably the reason they make so many of these movies.
