One reason could be that is over water. Research the plant and make sure that it is not getting too much water. It may be lacking nutrients also.

Check to see if they are infested with insect pests such as, aphids or scale. If they are tropical plants that are native to the understory of rain forests they could possibly be getting to much sunlight. Another possibility is that you are under or over fertilizing them. Follow packaging directions carefully, and provide with proper amount of water.

There may be a lot of reasons for this. It may be that you have purchased a species that does not like sun. You may like more water than you're giving. Fertilizer may be missing.

The humidity of a room can affect plants and how well they do. A tray with pebbles and water placed under the plants will ensure a plant which is healthy.
