The Peanuts comic strip is not being written by someone new. The strip is now referred to as Classic Peanuts and newspapers are publishing reprints of previous strips. Charles Schultz wrote and illustrated Peanuts for 40 years, from 1950 until his death in 2000. He produced nearly 18,000 strips, so there are plenty of old ones available.

In our paper they are "Peanuts Classics." Essentailly they are re-runs of the Charles Shultz cartoons that he did when he was still alive.

Charles M. Shulz had originally written the Peanut cartoons before he died in 2001. Afterwards it has just been rerun scripts.

They just started over. There were so many of them that they just reprint old ones. He has a few friends that make Peanut statues though.
