To remove a President from office, the House of Representatives must charge him with "high crimes and misdemeanors;" this is an impeachment. Then the Senate holds a trial; if two-thirds agree, the President is removed. Two President have been impeached -- Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton. Neither was removed from office.

President Bill Clinton was impeached, for lying under oath; however, he was not removed from office. President Andrew Johnson was impeached, but not for a specific crime.
