George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, Zachary Taylor, and Woodrow Wilson were all born in Virginia. In fact, of the first five presidents, only John Adams was not born in Virginia (he was born in Massachusetts). This is not surprising considering that Virginia was the first successful English colony established in 1607.
