Generally there are always people in need of pianos. The best place to go would be your local high school, if they still have a music department left. An extra piano there is always helpful. If that is not available then any place with a congregation of people; church, nursing home, community center, would be nice options.

There are many opportunities to donate a good, working piano. If you're the religious type, most area churches will be happy to accept your unwanted instrument. Most schools public or private will (or at least should) accept one, regardless of grade level.

Try small churches. You can also talk with music teachers about students who want to play and who do not have an instrument to play on. Network on and off line and you are likely to find someone.
