In most dishwashere the heater coil is located right under the bottom tray rack. Just open it up and look and you should be able to see it.

On most dishwashers, the heating coil is normally found under the lower spray arm. It is often circular and black. It is similar to the heating element on an electric stovetop, except it is only one ring instead of a series of rings. Some higher end dishwashers include a second heating coil to heat the air for the drying cycle.

you can find the heating coil in the bottom of the tub. They are mormally gray or black and kind of rectangular or square shaped. You need to be careful when changing them out. You could break off the prongs and i dont think you can replace them by themselves.

The location of the heating coil or heating element will vary by dishwasher model, but in most cases is it inside the "tub" of the dishwasher in plain view. Open the dishwasher door and pull out the bottom rack; the element should be visible at the bottom of the tub. Some models will have a cover over the heating element.
