The tetanus shot has to be administered into a muscle, which is the case for many vaccinations. The site of the injection largely depends on your age and the preference of you and the administrator. It can be administered in the anterolateral thigh muscle or the deltoid muscle in your arm. Adults usually receive it in the deltoid.
