Tummy tucks are considered cosmetic and will not be covered. If you can medically prove that this procedure seriously improves your health and well-being, you may have some coverage.

No insurance will cover tummy tuck unless it is medically necessary. If it is deemed so then the insurance company will send you to one of their doctors to get a second opinion before they approve the claim. Usually the facility providing the tummy tuck usually have some kind of insurance that you can apply for.

Unless the tummy tuck is medically necessary it will most likely not be covered under any insurance plan. If you have excessive skin or other such problems it is possible that you can get the procedure declared medically necessary. The main problem is once they have ruled it as medically unnecessary it is nearly impossible to prove otherwise.

You would likely need to get your doctor to claim that your tummy is causing you problems that would medically require a tuck. Constant failure at dieting, back pain, or hernias could all be reasons that a tuck would be medically necessary.
