Go to your local historical society and ask if they have any dresses available. Dresses from the 1800's are antiques and will be delicate.

Search online auction and antique websites, visit antique stores and talk to current dressmakers for information about finding vintage wedding gowns. Local libraries may offer resources as far as books and magazines gear especially toward wedding dress shopping. You may also look in your grandmother's attic, or through the things of an older relative.

There are websites that sell vintage wedding dresses from that area, or very convincing looking replicas. Though, if you are looking for white or ivory it will be hard to find. Because back then the poorer class used darker colors and as the wealth grew so did the colors. The prominent are the ones that could wear white or ivory.

I would try a vintage clothing stores in your area. You might also try a costume rental store. They sometimes will sell inventory or may rent it to you.Try theater groups also.

The best place to start would be to look in antique stores. Occasionally you will also see vintage dresses sold on craigslist

That will be very hard to find, but you might try Ebay or a real estate sale. I would be careful of scams though.

The best places to look are online auction sites. Other places to look are thrift stores and charity stores, which often carry antique wedding dresses at reasonable prices.
