Berenguer dolls are very realistic dolls available through . They are 14" long, just right for a young girl to hold. There are also "Lifelike" Newborn Dolls, which are kits exquisitely hand-assembled by individuals, with realistic hand-painted faces, and individual hairs sewn into the scalp. The Lifelike Newborns are more expensive and fragile than the Berenguer dolls.

Reborn dolls, which are designed to look like a human baby, are available from a variety of sources; eBay and a variety of websites offer the dolls. There are also kits available that allow one to put together his/her own doll (a process referred to as "newborning"); these can be found through many of the same sources.
