Usually around 5 to 6 weeks is the egg safetly implanted in the uterine wall. This is when a woman usually finds out when they are pregnant. Many women can tell because they may have a little bleeding or spotting where the egg implants and causes the uterine wall to bleed.

For every woman, this is a little different. However, generally, the baby implants five to seven days after ovulation. The only way to tell if it has "safely" implanted is to wait, watch your HCG levels, and eventually do an ultrasound.

A baby is considered safely implanted when the ultrasound reader trained technical people can see signs that the egg has grown and developed and there are no signs of rejection such as bleeding or hormone changes measured in the bloodstream of the mother. The egg needs to implant to grow the placenta and other architecture of pregnancy.

Implantation occurs around the third week of your menstrual cycle or of your pregnancy. This would be around cycle day 21. Not every female will feel or be aware of implantation occurring, in fact it is very rare to know.
