When do you let foals into the pasture for the first time?

You can let them out pretty soon after they are born if they are with their mother. Just make sure if there are any other horses in the pasture that they will not hurt the foal. It might be a good idea to only let the mom and foal out the first couple of times.

When they are being weaned it is safe for you to let them in the pasture with other horses. However you should take the baby around the pasture and let the other horses get used to it. DO NOT put the foal in with an aggressive horse because it could hurt the baby.
