Chevy changed the name of its blazer to tahoe in 1995. The name change was a result of chevy trying to boost up sales in the early nineties. Although the name changed the body style did stay the same for a few years. Even the GMC jimmy made a change and was called the yukon.

This was a purely marketing decision on Chevy's part. Regardless, they both were the same vehicle and were both full size versions of the same vehicle. The name change did change during the early to mid 90s. Both vehicles were full-size versions of the same vehicle and came in 4 wheel drive versions.
