What's the best way to travel from Amsterdam to Florence?

Plane. First of all you just have to take a low cost flight; maybe from Pisa or Bologna or directly from Florence but it is more expensive. By train it is like a suicide: you have to change at least 4/5 trains and it takes like two days or something like that. And it is not cheaper than the plane.

It depends on your situation. If you're in a hurry, plane is the best way. If you want to see the great view of France, the train is your choice.

It really depends as the traveler how much you are wwilling to spend. Economy seating by train is cheaper than flight. But it does take longer to reach your destination.
