The easiest way to get from Port of Miami to Fort Lauderdale Airport is to use I95. When you exit the port onto NW 7th Street look for signs for I95. Take I95 north for approx 25 miles until you see the exit for the airport. The exit ramp will take you directly to the road leading to the airport.

Personally, I think I would take a shuttle or lemo. There seem to be a variety available, all at a resonable cost. This would take the hassle of luggage, lines, and airline tickets out of the picture. It seems to take about the same amount, if not less time.
