Do some research on bonded pairs of parakeets. Bonded pairs are more likely to mate. Know the sex of your birds. Make sure that you have all of the necessary breeding materials such as a nesting box before you begin. These steps will ensure a successful match.

This takes a lot, so I suggest you get books, consult the internet and talk to breeders. Breeding birds needs dedicated care to diet, environment, cleanliness above the norm. Domestic eggs are usually not viable, and breeding pairs should not be related. Breeding pairs should socialize to themselves, not you.

Female parakeets will lay eggs even if a male isn't around. But the eggs will not be fertilized. Only if the female breeds with the male. Make sure you own a parakeet for several years before eve thinking about mating. Eggs that are fertilized will take 18-20 days before they hatch. It takes 4weeks to care for the chick.

You have to keep them to gather all the time. Putting a blanket over the cage at night will give them some time to be alone. They will breed faster this way.

Make sure you have a male and female, the female will lay eggs (she will lay regardless of his involvement.) Provide nesting material and a box. It is important to remove the unhatched eggs before they go bad, and the female will sit on them long past their due date. It might take several tries before they breed successfully.

You first have to make sure that your birds are a male and female. To breed the female you should wait till they are at least a year old. Consider going through a training class before you start any breeding.

Parakeets breed when they are happy. When the male bird senses that the female bird is very happy then they breed. Watching them too closely makes them unhappy!
