St. Malachy described all popes, starting with Celestine II. The 112th pope on this list will be the last as Rome will be destroyed. Benedict XVI is the 111th pope.

This Irish saint reportedly had powers of levitation, prophecy, clairvoyance, and healing. His prophecies included the date of his own death, descriptions of each pope from his time in the 1100's. There are only two left, according to him, after John Paul II. There are many more and his prophecies were very accurate.

Saint Malachy was a medieval Irish priest and Kabbalist, and is famous today primarily for predictions relating to popes and that catholic church. For example, ""In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman". As with many such predictions they contain a strong element of flexibility and mystique.
