What was the role of Hephaestus, the Greek god?

He was one of the gods from Mount Olympus. He was a blacksmith and god of fire. The Roman version is called Vulcan. Hera was his mother. Some people say Zeus was his father. Hephaestus made most of the famous tools that the other gods used. Hephaestus also made the first woman in Greek mythology, Pandora.

Hephaestus was the Greek God of the forge. He made Zeus' thunderbolts, and was responsible for creating Hermes' winged helmet and sandals, Aphrodite's girdle, and Achilles' armor.
