What was the best western TV series?

That's a toss up. Both were kind of campy. Bonanza had more memorable actors. I'd have to say that Bonanza was more popular. And maybe so in reruns too because it was mostly in color and fun to see younger Pernell Roberts, Michael Landon and David Canary. The story lines might have been better too.

Gunsmoke was the longest running western on TV, and one of the best. My favorite was Rawhide. It started the career of Clint Eastwood, who played Rowdy Yates. Another great series was Wanted Dead or Alive which launched the career of Steve McQueen. It would be great to have a western drama on TV today.
