Start by doing the circuit in shorter distances, and eventually work your way up to the required distance. Try not to be too concerned about time, just worry about pacing yourself.

Firstly, wake up early. On empty stomach drink half cup water mixed with 1 lemon juice and 1 tsp honey. Then run for 1/2 an hour. Then have some fruits and juice, have bath and have good breakfast. In the evening exercise in gym for 2 hours. When possible climb up and down the stairs.

The key is to start out gradually but before you even think of anything training wise you've got to amend you diet. Food that is nutrient rich, whole grains, and protein are really critical. After that you need to set daily goals of how much you plan to do and then each day thereafter keep increasing your target.

If you're not a swimmer, concentrate on the pool. Water endurance is different than running endurance. When everyone jumps in the water for the swim, you will feel very overwhelmed with all the people like you're going to drown. To me, getting over that feeling in the water is the hardest part.

Keep hydrated as much as possible, train accordingly, and get checked out by your doctor before you start training for either.

In order to train for a marathon, you need to begin with a base of about 6-8 miles. Then 10 weeks before, begin a training program.

Make sure you are resting and eating a good amount of calories each day. You should be getting in more protein after you work out. Also make sure you eat enough carbs to get the energy you need to train for the marathon and hope you do well on your day.
