Smaller paintings which are often less costly, sell faster than larger paintings. This is due to costs as well as lack of space required for large paintings to be displayed.

Size of painting doesn't necessarily matter at all. It is like asking, what length of song will sell the most cds? The quality of the work is usually more important, but size can matter if the painting is being commissioned, which would make it more expensive.

Paintings sell best when they are neither too big nor too small. Large paintings, sizes that are larger than 30 inches by 50 inches, are usually too big for the average person. Paintings that are close to 17 inches x 24 inches work best.

Paintings that are neither small nor large sell best, I know that sounds obscure but if you are hoping to sell your art making sure you don't go for really large canvas or really small one's will help your pieces to sell. Everyone is looking for different size artwork so having a variety is also important.

Actually, in this case, size does not matter. Its the quality of the painting and how well the painter is known. In the case of a regular painter, I would say that the normal US paper size picture would sell better than really small pictures and super large paintings. Good luck!

You should try to keep your painting size within a forty by forty size. That way the average family can find a place to put your painting.

It depends on the medium, but, generally, smaller paintings sell easier than large ones, simply because the majority of home owners do not have a huge amount of wall space available to fill.If you are targeting a corporate buyer, perhaps for an office wall, then scale up. Watercolors are usually painted on a smaller scale than oil.
