First off,yes it will hurt. I feel that outlining hurts more, but others say shading is worse. After your tattoo is done, put triple anti-biotic ointment or tattoo balm on it for about the first two weeks. Not too thick, just enough to keep it from drying and scabbing over.

Make sure you eat something light before you go, so you don't pass out. Most importantly, make sure you are getting something that you can live with for the rest of your life. It should be something that is you, not just something that you like. Remember, your interests will always change.

First and foremost you definately need to be mentally prepared. It does not matter how physically tough you think you are. If you sit down in that chair with the wrong mindset you will either back out before it starts or be anxious through the entire process wanting it to be over.

Avoid alcohol it thins your blood. Know what size/style tattoo you are looking for and be sure it's what you want - they are permanent! Make a visit to the tattoo shop you are using to make sure it's sanitary. Talk to the tattoo artist you will use,and observe their work. Lastly,Tattoos are not pain free!

Getting a tattoo is painful. Make sure you are using a licensed tattoo professional who is using sterilized equipment. Get examples of his/her work. Enjoy your tattoo!

Before making tattoo, you have to confirm about your skin for any allergy. Because tattoo is a drawing on your skin which is by the insertion of chemical based inks.
