What should I know about taking care of hairless rats?

I had a hairless rat named Marley 2 years ago. They are very affectionate. You should make sure he has plenty of nesting material to keep warm in, especially in the winter. Keep him away from drafts and cold air. My rat loved lots of fresh veggies every day and would pout if he didn't get a carrot.

Keep them well protected from the elements. they catch a cold easily. I recommend using barbie or GI-Joe costumes or even ols socks to keep them warm.

Always keep the rat in a cage that has enough room for the rat to walk around. Keep the tank clean. Clean it at least once a week.

The main thing to know is that hairless rats should not be left alone. They are very social animals and should have a companion for extra body warmth.
