Cherry trees are very touchy about the conditions in which they want to and will grow in. It has to be a colder area. Cold spells and frosts are something else to be weary of with cherry trees. They are sensitive to the cold and to the hot. The soil should also not be red clayish, but rather dark soil.

Okame are the most disease resistant of the ornamental cherry trees. They like a well drained site that is not too wet. Transplant in Feb or March. They like any type of soil including sandy or clay. They are very easy to care for, requiring almost no maintenence.

Well to take care of the cherry tree, make sure you cultivate the soil rapidly and also water on a regular basis.

Okame cherry trees are a fast growing tree that prefers full sun, so the first thing to know is plant in full sun. You will want to prune your tree to let light into the inner branches and encourage a beautiful shape. It does well in most soil; adjusting to different PH and alkaline levels.

There's not much to know! This type of Cherry Tree is very low maintenance and prefers to be in full sun at all times with a well drained soil type.

They do best in full sun, although they tolerate partially shaded areas. Keep soil moist with good drainage and water during dry periods. They benefit from mulch to hold moisture. You can prune it to thin out the canopy and let light into the interior of the tree.
