Liriope should be planted around January or February in most places in North America. It can grow in various conditions, but prefer moist and well draining soil. The one definite requirement is full sun.

Also called lilyturf, this plant likes moist, well drained soil. Liriope takes any amount of heat drought or sun, but will flower best in full sun. Mow the foliage back before plants start growing, late winter, with mower at highest height setting in order not to damage the crown. This will prevent anthracnose and is necessary to insure best growth.
