Labradors in general tend to be easy going dogs and make good family pets. Since your dog is a female, unless you have some pressing reason to want puppies, she should be spayed before 6 months of age. Worm her twice a year and make sure you have proper vaccinations.

Female Black Labs make wonderful pets, and you should know about caring for them because of this. Also they make great companions, also another reason. If you care about animals at all then you should know this. Also labs are different from other dogs in the way you maintain their fur. You can't just shave it like many dogs.

There is no difference in raising the different breeds of dogs. Really just show them a lot of love and companionship they so desire. Love them unconditionally, like they are family.

There are general rules for caring for any pet that can be translated to any breed. It is important to know about the joint and hip problems that labs have. These problems are not specific to the color but are common to the breed no matter the color. You should care for a black lab like any lab.
