What should I know about a slate shower?

Its expensive but it looks awesome! Oh and the slate can be slippery when wet. So if you have any mobility problems then you will want to chose something else. I always encourage people to use slat look tiles to save money and get the same great look. But its a decorators choice.

Slate is a very porous material, therefore would be hard to keep clean, and keep soap scum out of your shower. It can be used, however, your shower would need a very good sealant. Slate can also "shed" which is what it's made to do naturally. As a soft, porous stone, I would really consider another material for a shower.
