Depending on where the humerus fracture is located, you can expect to work with a physical therapist for up to three times a week. You may have to do stretching, strength conditioning, and weight bearing for the item that is hurting. If your injury was from a main function i.e. walking you may have to practice walking again.

Expect your therapy to be very painful at first. You may want to try taking Motrin or Advil before each session as well as applying a heating pad for thirty minutes before each session.

For treatnent of humerus fracture sugical intervention like plateing and nailing may require. Once fracture is healed completely then physical therapy comes in to picture. Physical therapy is very important at this stage for reestablishing original movement and tone of the muscles. Flexion and extention exercise of hand muscles, SWD, and wax therapy can be done.
