People with hyperthyroidism may experience a fluctuation of thyroid levels in the days after giving birth. The body's hormone levels need to return to normal after working for two for nine months.

With the increase of thyroid level after giving birth, enlargement of the thyroid gland would be expected which could result to thyroid goiter, protruding eyes, palpitations, loss of hair, weight loss, restlessness which sometimes could lead to sleep disturbances. This could be avoided by taking anti-thyroid drugs.

One thing is your hair will most likely fall out. Also, you will most likely lose your pregnancy weight faster than a normal person. You may also experience a delay in getting your first period after having delivered your baby. You should check with your doctor for more specifics and how to remedy your symptoms.

Within the first four months after delivery, it is not uncommon for hyperthyroid to cause an enlargement of the thyroid, concentration and sleep disruptions as well as restlessness, anxiety and weight loss.
