The horse will respond to your state of mind, if you become scared it will become more anxious. If you calm down the horse will eventually do the same.

You need to calm your horse down. Try getting your horse away from the problem until he calms down. If your horse is afraid of something you should try to adjust your horse to it by walking him near the distraction until he's not afraid anymore.

Be calm, because if you are anxious, your horse will pick up on that. Talk soothingly/softly to your horse and pat his/her neck. Determine the cause and fix it.
