If you have a throat nodule, it probably has to do with your thyroid in which case you need medical evaluation. The nodule could make you have difficuly swallowing or shortness of breath.

Where is it located? If it is in the bottom, it could be your thyroid acting up. It would be a good idea to check with your doctor.

You will need to see your physician or an endocrinologist. Have the doctor determine if it is related to a thyroid dysfunction or if it is benign or malignant. Depending on your situation, your doctor may prescribe hormone suppression therapy which only requires taking a pill. In some cases surgery may be required.

I think the best answer is to contact your physician. You can either make an appointment or visit an urgent care center or emergency room. It sounds like it could be complications of an infection or virus like strep throat. In that case you would need an antibiotic. It could also be a side effect of an allergy.

Throat nodule may be due to abnormal enlargement of your thyroid gland referred to as 'goitre'. Sudden increase in size of a long-standing thyroid nodule may be due to bleeding into the nodule or transformation from a benign to potentially malignant condition. Hence it warrants a through clinical check-up with a thyroid scan and a needle test to confirm the diagnosis.

You should get to the doctor right away so they can check it out and get it treated. That way it won't get the opertunity to lead to something bigger and more troublesome.

If you have a nodule in your throat, you should see your primary doctor, especially if it seems to be growing larger.
