To control and maintain the temperature, a refrigerator has a thermostat which will switch-off the compressor automatically once certain temperature is attained. Look for short circuit in the thermostat, or see if the bulb or tube of the thermostat is not punctured. In both the case, replace the thermostat.

A good first check is to see if the gasket fits snugly, or if the refrigerator is in fact partly open and trying to cool the whole room. If the door is not fully shut the machine will have to work hard and will stay on.

First, check the dials inside the refrigerator. Take out most of the food, and move the dial to the lowest postition, and wait 24 hours. The refrigerator should turn off. If it doesn't, then it has a bad thermostat, and will need to be repaired.

If not stopped then you should try to call a professional but make sure you know what might be wrong with it because they can scam you.

There could be something wrong with it, so you need to have it checked out, cause it might cost you more money if you don't get it fixed.
