What should I do if HR threatened a reprimand?

You should most likely do nothing. Most employees have no rights to contest these, and doing so may escalate matters and lead to a suspension or even a termination. You may have more rights if you are in a union or have an employment contract, but this is unlikely.

If you violated a policy, a reprimand may be necessary. There is usually a formal meeting with either informal or formal written documentation. It is best to listen to the complaint and to agree not to break the policy again. If there are extenuating circumstances, you can submit a written explanation of your own.

Just sign it, and keep going. some people do that to feel that they have power.

Start being on your best behavior. If you have been threatened once they will keep watching you to see if you mess up again.

This depends on whether you broke the rules. If you reported wrong doing (and did nothing wrong) and they reprimand you, this is a violation of whistle-blower protections.

Well it depends on what the issue is , but don't get combative with HR, try talking to your boss and see if he can help you
