If this is an animal you know and has had it shots cleaning the wound should be sufficent. If you don't know the animal clean and dress the wound and call your Doctor. Stray kittens can be harboring many diseases like ringworm and expose you to toxoplasmosis which can be dangerous to pregnant women.

Just wash the wound and put over-the-counter antibiotic ointment on it. Keep an eye on it for infection, but chances are you will be fine.

Any animal bite that draws blood you want to get checked out right away. The animal could carry a number of diseases like rabies or lime disease. You might have to get a shot and The doctor can clean the area. I hope this helps.

Despite the fact that kittens are cute and cuddly, you should handle this in the same manner in which you would a dog bite. Finding out whether or not the animal has had a rabies shot is still important. Believe it or not, a cat bite can require stitches but is doubtful.
