First off, you should protect your ankle by using a brace. Rest your ankle and use crutches. Apply ice to your ankle 24 to 72 hours or until the swelling starts to go down. Take NSAIDs or acetaminophen to reduce swelling and pain. Compress your ankle with a bandage. Elevate the twisted ankle. Finally, contact a doctor for further treatment.

You need to ice it and heat it on and off, every 15 minutes. Also try staying off of it as much as possible. Wear a brace if you need.

To care for a twisted foot on the inside of the ankle, first apply ice to the injured area to reduce swelling. Afterwards, please be sure to relieve pressure on the foot by resisting the urge to put your weight on the injured ankle. The ankle should be in good shape after 5-7 days.

For the next few days try not to puttoo much pressure on it. Ice it down for about 20 minutes every hour or so to keep down the swelling. Take anti-inflamitory pain pills. If it still is hurting after about 5 days you should go see a doctor.

First, lay or sit down and elevate the foot, above the heart. Then put ice on it for 20 minutes then take it off and put heat on for 20 minutes Then splint the ankle from the inside and wrap it so the ankle is immobilized.

You should try to keep off of the foot for a few days, and elevate it in order to reduce any swelling. If pain and swelling don't go away with rest and pain medications, you should see a doctor.
