There is no need to kill it. If it is in a room close the door and try to open a window. The little thing will be afraid of you so he won't attack you. Try to put some nuts on the window sill. He will eventually find his way out.

Call pest control. If you try to capture a squirrel by yourself, it may bite you and lead to some unwanted disease. They also love crushed peanuts, so if you insist on doing it yourself you could buy a trap and fill it with nuts to lure it in.

Squirrels don't like blood meal. If you put blood meal down they will try to get away from it and hopefully they will leave the way they came in. Otherwise you will have to get a squirrel trap to trap them and then you can take them and release them outside.
