What should I do about a plumbing problem with the septic pump?

Is this something I can take care of myself?

If your septic pump has a leaking connection or pipe then you may be able to sort it out yourself. If the pipe is damaged, simply replace it with a pipe of the same size (diameter and length/shape). You will need some basic plumbing equipment for this.

You can plug a small leak with water resistant sealing stuff available at most stores - very simple and takes less than 5 minutes.  add a comment

Do you have a diagram of the plumbing plan of your septic pump. This will be very useful for tracing pipes, etc and prevent nasty surprises!

A blocked septic pump can be a total mess. You will need to know plumbing and physics before you decide where and how it is blocked. Unclogging a block is not for the weak-hearted as it's not a clean job!! You may be better off with a plumber for this!
