dental care

Question by  Mike26 (26)

What should I do about a baby tooth discoloration?

You could pay to have them whitened at the dentists office, or since it is a baby tooth you can just wait for it to fall out all on it's own. Though the only problem with that is the baby tooth will be discolored for as long as it takes to come out.

Provided the discoloration is not due to decay, I would not do anything about it. The teeth will be replaced by permanent teeth in time. Tooth whitening is potentially damaging for adults and certainly not recommended for children.

Tooth discoloration could be due to caries, food deposits, hypoplastic enamel or due to certain medications taken during pregnancy. It is better to consult a dentist.

Usually that means that the nerve in the tooth is dead. Most of the time it is nothing serious, but you should get an x-ray to make sure.
