If you are not eating a balanced diet, it will show first in your hair skin and nails. Start by trying a multivitamin. If this doesn't help, add biotin, and an omega-3 fatty acid like flaxseed oil, or fish oil. Stress can also show in your hair, so make sure you are getting rest!

Protein first and foremost. Which equals meat, usually red meat is best. If you are on a vegetarian or vegan diet eat things like peanut butter, eggs (no eggs for vegans) and various kinds of nuts.

To get your hair (and also your nails) to grow, you need protein and iron. You can get protein in chicken, and you can find iron in spinach.
