Well a lot of herbal remedies were used. for headaches. It was actually put in coke for years. Gordo Do Lobo was and still is used for stomach upset and coughs and colds. Laudanum was used for pain . White Willow was a good anti-inflammatory.

They sometimes used herbal therapy and homeopathy. They would use plants and herbs to make special medications. There was a vaccine for measles and small pox that was used in the 1700's.
