Florida Softshell juveniles (Apalone ferox) are olive yellow with grey or black spots and a yellow lined shell. The spots fade as they age. They have a long neck and head, with a long snorkel-like nose. Florida Softshells are native to eastern United States (primarily Florida).

This description of a smooth shell with black dots and a long suction-type nose describes the features of a Florida Softshell Turtle. To my knowledge this is the only turtle with these features.

This sounds like a Florida Soft-shell Turtle. They are very common down south on the East coast of the United States. These turtles are docile yet wild and make for spectacular pets. They are usually the typically slow turtles that form the turtle stereotype.
