What kind of jobs did women have WW1?

Many women worked in assembly work, from the mechanical assembly of guns, tools, and military hardware. All of the workers who sewed uniforms were women, as were most of those who manufactured blankets and backpacks and parachutes.

Women helped directly in the war effort as radio operators, nurses, drivers. They also worked in factories, often doing jobs that previously were done by men before they went off to war.
