What kind of effect does glue-sniffing have?

How did anyone come up with this for recreation?

Glue sniffing is an extreme high, but kills an extraordinary amount of brain cells. So much so, that years of addiction to this, can actually make you unable to function at all (speaking, walking, etc.), due to the amount of brain cells that will be killed. It's a very addictive act.

Simply using glue reveals that its fumes have an effect, so it's easy to see how people learned to abuse them. Hallucination, inebriation, nervous system/organ damage, and death are effects.
