The very best cages for guinea pigs are ones with a flat bottom that can then be strewn with pine chips. Hamster cages are too small. Guinea pigs need some room to move. A large aquarium is a good alternative, leaving room for your guinea to run about and to have a corner for an igloo.

Hamster cages are totally inappropriate. The only ones big enough are homemade ones. Do an internet search for "Cubes and Coroplast Cages": easy-to-make and a fraction of the cost!
