Some goldfish have naturally bulging eyes. There may not be anything wrong with it. If it's not a goldfish, it could have a disease.

Your fish could have Popeye, which is caused by an internal infection. This can be treated with medicated food. Popeye can be prevented by cleaning your tank on a regular basis. You can also test the water in your tank to make sure all gases ( oxygen, nitrates, etc) are at an acceptable level.

Popeye is caused by mechanical damage (if only one eye) or possibly water quality problems. Check your water with a test kit, ensure ammonia, nitrites are 0 ppm and nitrates are under 40 ppm. You can use Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) at 1 teaspoon per 3 gallons to treat popeye. Dissolve it in warm water before adding to the tank.

This is could be a couple problems. Most likely it is a nitrogen problem that can easily be cured by just doing regular water changes. It could also be a sign of a internal infection that is causing a fluid bubble to bulge the eye.

If your fish has a bulging eye, it probably has an infection with fluid build-up behind the eyes. To keep this from happening keep the water really clean.

While some fish do have eyes that look like they are bulging, if this is a new development with your fish, it probably has something called Popeye. This can be treated with medicated food. It is a internal infection.

Bulging eye is condition of "popeye",is bacterial infection caused by diry water. Refill the tank with tap water and add antibacterial medication to water and keep the water tank warm. If this condition is not treated early it could spread to rest of her body so make sure to follow the full course of medicine

This could come from bacteria, water quality, or a wound from another fish. Quarantine the injured fish. Keep water clean; add one tablespoon epsom salt per five gallons water.

A bulging eye is a sign that the fish is getting too much water in its gills. It should settle in a few days.

The fish may have an infection in it's eye. The infection is probably causing the fishes eye to swell. Hope this helps.
