What is this black spot on my gums and why is it bleeding?

This sounds like a possible ulcer that has opened. Ulcers usually have this coloration and if irritated from chewing or talking could open frequently resulting in bleeding. Another possiblity is that it could be an infection that is leaking caused by bacteria or a parasite.

That sounds like you have a gum disease such as gingivitis or periodontal disease from not taking proper care of your teeth and gums. It is likely that your gums are dead or decaying in that spot. A trip to the dentist is required to treat this.

It may be gingivitis. Anything that causes your gums to bleed is worth getting to the dentist as soon as possible to take care of it.

This could be a normal injury or sore. Anything that doesn't heal within two weeks should be evaluated by a dentist to assure it isn't something more serious.

Well if you have a black spot on your gums, it looks like you could have some kind of root canal going on. Your gums could also be rotted so get it checked.

either there is a cavity on the tooth near the gumline which can cause bleeding. you may a have a abcess on the gum which can sometimes look like a black spot which can also bleed or puss will drain. either have the tooth extracted or have a root canal.
