What is the white stuff on plants?

We used to get this stuff on tomato plants. It was some sort of bacterial growth. We went to a gardening store and got a spray that fixed the problem.

It could be a couple different things udually it is some sort of fungus and if it is you will need to get an antifungal spray if it is something else you can talk to your local greenhouse and they will be able to help you.

The white stuff on different plants could be the white stuffy cottony spongy layer all over the plants. It is very common on tomato and some of the vegetable plants.

The white stuff is a bacteria that eventually kills the leaves and the plant. You can find some sprays at your local store to get rid of the white stuff.

Probably whitefly. Cut off infected branches and wipe any new white stuff that appears with rubbing alcohol. Keep the plant away from other plants til the problem's resolved.

White stuff on plants is not harmful, ususally it's a lack of nutrients or too much nutrients. Best bet is to re-pot or even airrate the soil

Most likely a common fungus called powdery mildew. If it is a small area, pull the leaves off. If it is a larger area you will need to purchase a fungicide spray. To help prevent further spread be sure your plants get adequate air movement, the soil drains well, and water in the morning.
