What is the way to go about sharing a well with a neighbor?

The best way to make sure that there are no problems is to get an agreement in writing. If the rules are clearly spelled out and agreed to, then there should be no problems because each party will know exactly what they can and cannot do. That should keep the problems down.

Make sure there is enough water flow to support to households. When hooking up pumps, put seperate pumps to both houses. Make sure there is a kill switch accessible to both houses, incase someone is not home. Be sure to have a written agreement on how to deal with other issues, like water that goes bad.

this may be a hard one there are a lot of factors that go into this one first is the well holding enuff water to be shareable do you alone almost dry it out if so maybe think about drilling deeper down do the people your sharing with have a hi water demand if they do i wouldnt do it
