What is the value of a white penny?

I have been given a 1943 white penny, and would like to know its value. It is in near-mint condition.

According to several articles online about this penny, it is worth about 12 to 15 cents. Depending if you find a copper 1943 penny which is extremely rare, your penny may cost a little more. The best thing to do is get your penny appraised for value.

I belive this is actually called a steel penny. They are made of zinc coated steel, the copper was needed to make ammo. The average price of a Steel Penny is anywhere for 20 cents to 50 cents in average condition. There are a few 1943 copper pennies around and those are very rare and valuable.
